In the year 1910, Gurbaksh Singh Sethi, a Sikh business man in search of greener pastures migrated from Gujranwala, India (now Pakistan) to Mae Sot province in Northern Thailand. There he saw a great opportunity in textiles, so he opened a fabric shop in Mae Sot.

In the 50s, Mr Sethi began moving operations to Bangkok and opened another fabric shop in Phahurat Road, the main textile market in Bangkok. His sons ventured out into tailoring, the youngest one, Samak Sethi founded Prince Henry, naming it after his own sons name.

Henry Sethi and Prince Sethi now continues the traditional family business of their father.
